Textra offers a compelling alternative to the default SMS/MMS app on your phone. It provides a faster and more customizable experience, with a wide range of features such as scheduling texts, diverse material design themes, various bubble and app icon colors, multiple screen modes, and different bubble styles. Additionally, it includes features like scheduled (future) SMS and MMS, send delay, slide to delete, slide to call, quick snap camera, multi-select picture gallery, quick reply SMS popup, MMS group messaging, quick voice memos, endless GIFs, adjustable text sizes and font options.
Furthermore, Textra supports message blocking/blocklisting, pin-to-top conversations, automatic video and picture compression, as well as iOS reactions and emojis. The ability to customize themes, bubble colors, signatures, and notifications on a per-conversation basis adds another layer of personalization.
Notably, Textra now supports Reactions (also known as Tapbacks) received from iOS Apple devices. This update enhances the messaging experience by displaying a love heart emoji superimposed on the received message instead of a plain text. Users can also send reactions themselves.
Another new feature is the Copy Partial Text option which allows users to easily copy any part of the text within a bubble.
Textra seamlessly integrates with Pushbullet, MightyText, Android Wear, and Android Auto (car) for enhanced notifications and quick reply functionality.
All of Textra's features are available for free without any time limits. Users may encounter occasional ads or choose to make a one-time in-app purchase to remove ads permanently.
